Call or Visit Haltoms clock

The tradition began back in the early 1900s when G.W. Haltom purchased a Howard clock and placed it in front of the original downtown location of Sixth and Main. Originally, the meticulously crafted Howard was equipped with an eight-day wind mechanism that the watch manager rewound each Saturday. After World War II, Haltom's decided to replace the original mechanism with an electric one.

When looking for a new location in 1988, Haltom's only agreed to its current Sundance Square location at Third and Main Streets when Fort Worth officials granted a dispensation for the clock to be moved in front of the new building's main entrance. The clock was refurbished in early 2006, including an upgrade to an atomic mechanism, which uses radio waves to verify time. Each of the five Haltom's storefront sports a precision timepiece - a salute to our heritage and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
