Can you believe it? Haltom’s and Mikimoto are both celebrating their 125th anniversary this year!
Koichi Mikimoto patented the modern cultured pearl process in 1893, and worked a lifetime to build the Mikimoto brand. His success in creating a perfectly round, lustrous cultured pearl, and then creating one of the most recognized names in the world is beyond dispute.
Hard working and creative, Mikimoto’s company changed our pearl world as cultured pearls are the only gemstone that man can induce nature to create. Mikimoto’s success began in the first part of the 20th century, then skyrocketed in the 1940’s after many American servicemen brought home cultured pearl necklaces to their wives and girlfriends.
Mikimoto’s quality standards and strict grading rules have never changed, and their pearl jewelry is still the finest. We compare Mikimoto’s pearl quality to the highest GIA diamond grades; they are literally the cream of the crop. And speaking of crops, the pearl business is part farming, part science, and part jewelry manufacturing - again making the cultured pearl so unique in our gemstone world.
I hope you don’t mind my saying, but I think we both look pretty darn good for 125! Come see Mikimoto at Haltom’s, exclusively in Sundance Square in Fort Worth.
