Everyone at Haltom’s is a dog lover, and five years ago, we fell head over tails for Patriot PAWS.
The mission of Patriot PAWS is to train and provide service dogs of the highest quality at no cost to disabled American veterans and others with mobile disabilities and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) in order to help restore their physical and emotional independence.
Patriot PAWS gave our sales group a demonstration and there was not a dry eye in our boardroom by the end of the meeting. These dogs are so well trained - they can pick up a dropped credit card, or can hold a stance for support after a fall.
A funny story: Patriot PAWS named one of the new pups-in-training “Jack” – in honor of Jack Miller. He’s a great dog, but didn’t quite meet the disciplinary challenge to be in service, so Jack was privately adopted.
How You Can Help
At Haltom’s, we do not charge for a new watch battery. However, during the month of December, we’ll accept donations for your battery replacement and send those donations to Patriot PAWS in January!
Happy Pawlidays from Haltom’s!
