I know some women who’ll never be seen without lipstick. Me? I never leave the house without earrings. I got my ears pierced for my 12th birthday and have worn earrings everyday since.
As times goes by, styles change, my tastes have changed, and my ear lobes have changed. Being picky about the way an earring fits makes perfect sense to me, and adjusting earrings to fit properly is my specialty! Here are a few of my favorite fixes:
- Sometimes all we need is the proper earring back. Small friction backs do not provide enough support from behind to hold the earring up. A small back makes the stud look droopy. We’ve got jumbo backs as well as backs with a curved wire support in stock. I only wear my diamond studs with the largest support back and I’m happy to say, they look perfect.
- Changing the setting is also a good way to stop the droop. Ear stud stones look great in a martini-style mounting that sits into the ear and shines the stone straight out at your friends.
- Do you have a little tear in your piercing and don’t like to wear a Eurowire style earring anymore? We can help. I’ve taken several pairs of wire top earrings and added a little diamond stud or gold ball top. These have a regular post and hide the tear. I also added a larger friction back, and I’m enjoying these drop earrings again.
- Sometimes an earring is just too heavy, so we move the post and add a clip back for even more balance and support. And, we all have some larger button style earrings that are best worn with a good clip back only.
- When all else fails, consult your dermatologist and consider an injectable filler for your earlobes. It plumps up the lobe and really lifts up the earring!
