As I continue to work through my jewelry boxes and personal drawers, I have become reacquainted with some beautiful treasures from my past.
Some of the priceless pieces include my Mom’s class ring, my Dad’s Mach II pin, the pearl pendant Mrs. Wilson gave me for a great Kindergarten year, the Krugerrand my Dad gave me when I had a baby, and the Bucherer watch I bought in Lucerne when I was 18. You can imagine the flood of memories!
These boxes and drawers of heirlooms tell the stories of our lives as much as old photographs - and it has been a treat to go through everything. I also have ideas of ways to repurpose some of the items, and plan to start wearing and enjoying them right away.
Recently, I helped a friend go through her old boxes of treasures. We separated the karat gold from the costume pieces that belonged to her Mom. Are you taking the time to look through your priceless treasures? I’m glad to help anyone do this. One of these rainy days (or mercilessly hot days) might be the perfect time to start your project!
