In early 1957, a young General Dynamics test pilot fell in love with a young lady working in their statistics department. New to Fort Worth, he found his way to Haltom’s Jewelers at Main and 6th St and bought an emerald cut diamond engagement ring.
The couple married in June 1957, and she wore the ring until her passing in 2005. Her daughter kept the ring in her jewelry box ever since -- not really knowing what to do with it. An Instagram post earlier this year featured a diamond set sideways, and that was the inspiration to create a new look.
We helped her choose a trendy Cuban link chain, and our jeweler set the diamond in yellow gold. Now, the diamond looks brand new in a subtle yet current style and holds this sentimental diamond close to her heart. And if you don’t know, that heart belongs to me, and the young pilot and his wife were my beloved parents.
